This Privacy Policy governs your use of the Jelo platform and website. It is an agreement between Jelo (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and you, the user, on behalf of yourself and the entity (customer or supplier) for which you are visiting this Site.

This policy informs you of our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our website, software, or support services.

1. Scope and Consent

You are not required to provide personal information to visit our website. However, by becoming a registered member or using the Jelo platform, you acknowledge that you have read and consent to the practices described in this statement.

We may update this statement periodically. Your continued use of Jelo after updates are posted constitutes acknowledgement of the revised terms.

2. Information Collection

We collect two types of information: Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Non-Personally Identifiable Information.

Personally Identifiable Information

  • Account Data: Company name, contact name, telephone number, business address, and email address.
  • Mobile Phone Numbers: When you or your customers provide a mobile phone number, we collect it for the purposes of account verification, transactional notifications, appointment reminders, order updates, and (where consent has been provided) marketing communications sent via SMS or MMS.
  • Customer Content: As part of providing our SaaS services, we store data regarding your customers (e.g., names, contact details, and preferences) that you or your customers input into our system.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information

  • Cookies: Small text files used to track site activity. You can disable these in your browser, though some features of Jelo may become unavailable.
  • Log Files: Automatically collected data including IP addresses, browser types, ISP, operating system, and date/time stamps.
  • Children’s Privacy: Jelo does not offer services to children. We do not knowingly collect PII from individuals under 18. If such data is processed as part of our contractual obligations, we take measures to de-identify or anonymize it.

3. How We Use Your Information

We act as a Controller for your account data and a Processor for the customer data you upload.

  • Service Provision: To authorize access to screens, data, and tools.
  • Communications: To send system updates, billing notices, and requested promotional materials to your clients on your behalf.
  • Support: To provide technical assistance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Compliance & Security: To protect against fraud, comply with legal processes, and defend our legal rights.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

Jelo does not sell your data. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Third-Party Service Providers: We use limited sub-processors for data storage (e.g., cloud hosting), transmission, and professional advice. These parties are bound by contracts to restrict data use.
  • Payment Processing: We do not store credit card information. Payments are handled by secure third-party processors (e.g., Fullsteam Operations LLC).
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to meet national security/law enforcement requirements.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your PII may be among the transferred assets.

Mobile Information Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service and messaging delivery, is permitted. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

5. SMS and Mobile Messaging

Jelo and the businesses that use the Jelo platform (each, a “Store”) may send text messages (SMS/MMS) to mobile phone numbers you provide. Program Description

Mobile messages may include, but are not limited to: account verification codes (one-time passwords), appointment reminders and confirmations, order status and pickup-ready notifications, prescription and exam updates, customer service replies, billing and payment notifications, and—where you have separately opted in—promotional offers from a Store you do business with.

Consent and Opt-In

You consent to receive text messages when you (a) provide your mobile phone number to Jelo or a Store through a sign-up form, intake form, point-of-sale checkout, online booking flow, or other interaction; (b) check an opt-in box for marketing or promotional messages; or (c) text a keyword to a Jelo or Store short code or long code. Consent is not a condition of purchase. By providing your number, you confirm you are the subscriber to that line or have authority to provide consent on behalf of the subscriber.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your interactions with Jelo and the Store. You may receive messages in response to specific events (such as booking or canceling an appointment) and, if you have opted in to marketing, periodic promotional messages.

Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details on your plan.

Opt-Out (STOP)

You can opt out of receiving messages at any time by replying STOP to any text message you receive from Jelo or a Store. After you send STOP, you will receive a final confirmation message and will not receive further messages from that sender. To opt back in, reply START or contact the Store directly. Opting out of marketing messages may not affect transactional messages necessary to fulfill a service you have requested (for example, an appointment confirmation).

Carriers and Delivery

Messages are delivered via our messaging service provider, Twilio Inc., and your mobile carrier. Neither Jelo nor your carrier is liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and others; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy of Mobile Opt-In Data

Mobile phone numbers collected for SMS messaging, along with the consent (opt-in) record associated with each number, are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We share this information only with our messaging service provider (Twilio) and other subcontractors strictly as needed to deliver the messages you have requested.

6. Data Security and Storage

  • Security: We follow industry standards to protect data during transmission and at rest. While we use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
  • Breach Notification: If we learn of a security breach, we will attempt to notify you electronically so you can take protective steps.
  • Retention: We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill service purposes, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

7. Your Rights and Choices

We provide you with control over your data:

  • Email Opt-out: You may unsubscribe from marketing emails via the “unsubscribe” link or by contacting us directly.
  • SMS Opt-out: You may stop receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. See Section 5 for full details.
  • Access & Correction: You may request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and ask for corrections or deletions.
  • Jurisdictional Rights: Residents of certain regions (e.g., California, EU) may have additional rights regarding data portability and the right to complain to local authorities.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have the right to:

  • Request categories of personal information collected.
  • Request deletion of personal information.
  • Opt-out of the “sale” of personal information (Note: Jelo does not sell your personal information).
  • Receive non-discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.

8. International Transfers

Jelo is operated from the United States. If you are visiting from outside the U.S., please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
