Sharp Eye Care: familiar with Jelo in a day or two
After experience with other EHRs over 15 years, Dr. James Sharp found a system that met his needs and felt familiar within one or two days of use.
In their words
“It took me a day.”
On getting comfortable with Jelo. This is a short excerpt; the video contains the customer’s fuller account.
Before Jelo: experience with other EHRs
Sharp Eye Care has one location. Its doctor came to Jelo after using other EHRs over 15 years, looking for a system that brought the capabilities he needed together in one package.
Getting started: familiar after one or two days
Dr. Sharp found Jelo familiar after one or two days of use. In the video, he says it took him a day to feel comfortable finding his way around. That describes his personal learning experience, rather than a practice-wide migration timeline.
After Jelo: the capabilities he wanted together
After 15 years of experience with EHRs, Dr. Sharp found Jelo to be the system that checked all his boxes. His video highlights straightforward check-in and charting, access to messages and the schedule from his phone, and the ability to schedule from the exam room.

The workflow they discuss
Dr. James Sharp describes getting comfortable with the system, checking in a patient, opening a chart, checking messages and the schedule on his phone, and scheduling from the exam room. His one-day statement refers to his own comfort using the system, not the duration of a practice migration or staff training program.

And frankly, Jelo clicked all the boxes and also was less expensive.
So getting up to speed, shoot, it took me a day before I felt comfortable clicking to things and kind of where things went.
With Jelo, when I'm checking in a patient, we click check in a patient and that's it. Done.
So I can just start charting. I open up a patient, go to patient management and boom, new chart. Easy.
And I love that. I can check the messages from anywhere.
I can check them on my phone. I can look at the schedule from my phone.
I can schedule it in the exam room without ever having to go out to the reception desk and trying to find a spot or any of that.
I wanted it customizable and I wanted to have it all integrated.
I didn't want multiple packages. It's super fast, super easy, all from the same package.
What to evaluate for your own team
Ease of learning depends on your roles, current tools and workflow. Ask the staff who will use the system to walk through an exam, optical sale and billing example. Agree on training and migration scope before setting a go-live date.
These are the practice’s reported experiences. No measured percentage increase in efficiency, revenue result or practice-wide training benchmark is claimed. To evaluate your own results, record a baseline and measure the same work after implementation.
